Creationism

I often see creationists using logic as a way to discredit a scientific theory. I am fine with that. I become astounded when they then deny the use of logic in replacing the aforementioned scientific theory with a more implausible scenario that lacks any or provides little physical evidence whatsoever.

Homosexuality in Western Culture: a new and reasonable perspective for Christians (Part 3 of 3)

Like many Christians who seek authenticity within their faith, I have struggled to make sense of the issue of homosexuality within our culture as it relates to the biblical worldview. Authenticity within the Christian life means nothing if does not coexist with honest self-reflection. I believe most people are delusional when it comes to what they believe. They have a…

To whom it may concern at World Vision, I bring you greetings. We have been sponsoring a child for over 10 years with World Vision. We love World Vision and always stand behind your mission. Historical homosexuality is deeply rooted in the culture to which it belongs. In each of these societies the act of homosexuality was understood as extramarital and therefore was not associated with marriage, but as pleasure. It was also more common among those of upper-class status than those who were “pheasants”. (See Bruce Thornton’s research to learn more) In addition, it was not practice among women as it was men. It was a much rarer phenomenon among women as they were expected to exercise restraint and exude class as a representative of the family unit.

Christians in the hands of an angry God

Prologue: this is a sad time in history to call oneself a “Christian”. Recently, Arizona lawmakers passed a bill that would essentially legalize discrimination by allowing business owners to deny service to gay and lesbian couples. However, Republicans are claiming the proposed legislation is a preventive measure meant to protect the religious freedom of business owners. This is not just…
